After 2 days of rest- only because I did a day trip to Las Vegas on Wednesday (but Tuesday I walked 4 extra miles at lunch) and yesterday I just felt blah!- I went this morning!
Up at 5:30am with Andy because he was riding, struggling to put my running gear on, standing outside to see how cold it was, drinking my water with Heed in it to give me energy because I have found that coffee and running dont mix, finally at 6:15am- pitch black - I headed out!
It wasnt as cold as I thought nor has it been so half way through my run I had to start stripping down the gloves and hat, sweat was actually dripping down my face from the fleece part of my hat- gross! I get so scared of the dark corners so I ran pretty fast this morning- 3.78 miles in 40:30 mins- avg 10.66 min mile by myself- not too shabby!
Does the aching ever stop? After I run my legs just ache and my knees hate the stairs- I do have to tell ya those damn foot inserts work and are the best. My arch does not hurt anymore- well ok in the mornings if I dont do silly foot stretches before getting out of bed, the first step is tight and I will limp like a I have a hurt paw but then it gets better the more I walk. I recommend the Super Feet. (hate hate hate knowing the source of this good find!).
Tomorrow is a big day in a two ways... 1. I will be running 10 miles with Cousin Barb in the morning and 2. I will be celebrating my 40th birthday (my actual birthday is the 7th but the celebration party is tomorrow night). Very monumental stuff I tell ya!
I hate running in the morning too & the warm-up is always the worse in cold weather! Happy Birthday & Good luck!
